About the Center for Teaching Excellence

The Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) is committed to supporting, promoting, and enhancing academic instruction and learning by providing assistance, consultation, and resources for faculty in a collaborative environment that will nurture and advance the culture of teaching excellence at Mercyhurst College.  Advocating discussion, dialogue, and debate, the Center for Teaching Excellence stands as a positive force for continual improvement in teaching resources and methods while championing the variety of successful teaching styles and environments across the disciplines.  The Center for Teaching Excellence was created at Mercyhurst College in the fall of 2008 as part of the the Mercyhurst Strategic Plan.

  About Mercyhurst College

Mercyhurst College is a fully accredited, four-year, Catholic comprehensive institution, founded in Erie, Pa., by the Sisters of Mercy in 1926. The Erie campus, located on a picturesque hillside crowning the city, offers 50 undergraduate majors with 67 concentrations, as well as unique adult programs and six graduate programs. In addition, it maintains its one- and two-year programs at a campus in scenic North East, just 20 minutes from Erie. Also, in the fall of 2006, Mercyhurst opened its third campus, Mercyhurst West, in neighboring Girard, Pa.
