Aaron Kemp

 
Aaron Kemp enters his second season as an assistant women's hockey coach at Mercyhurst College. He was hired in 2004 and helped guide the Lakers to a school record number of victories and their first ever appearance in the NCAA tournament.

Kemp joined the Lakers' staff after serving as the assistant men's hockey coach at his Alma mater, Canisius College. Prior to that, Kemp also coached the Buffalo Saints AAA midget team and began his coaching career with the Ridley College boy's varsity team.

The Burgessville, Ontario, native played Junior B with the Kitchener Dutchmen and the Cambridge Winterhawks, then played four years at Canisius College. As a strong power forward, Kemp registered 24 goals and 28 assists in 93 games for the Golden Griffins.

Kemp earned his Bachelors degree in Physical Education in 99' and his Masters degree in Sport Administration in 04' both from Canisius. He and his wife Darcey, who works as the Director of the Student Union at Mercyhurst, live in Erie.
